Boston is a small city-peaceful, safe, studious.
Nevertheless, it is one of the most important cities in the U.S.
Firstly, it has a great history. Many of the events of the American Revolution began in Boston, including the first battles of the war. It is in Boston where the famous tea party took place. Many great revolutionary leaders lived here including John Hancock, Paul Revere and Sam Adams.
Secondly, it is the center of education in the U.S. Some of the finest colleges in the world are in Boston, including most famously, Harvard University, just across the river in Cambridge.
And lastly, it's medical facilities are the finest in the world. People travel all over the globe seeking medical care from such great medical institutions as Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's, and the Deaconess.
It's a small city. But it makes itself heard!
